IntelliCorp and McCormick & Company Present at ASUG mySAP ERP Upgrade Symposium
Managing The mySAP ERP Upgrade Project While Reducing Time, Cost and Resources

Santa Clara, Calif., October 30, 2006 – IntelliCorp, a worldwide provider of software for SAP application lifecycle management, today announced it will co-present with McCormick & Company at the ASUG mySAP ERP Upgrade Symposium in Atlanta, GA. On November 7, 2006 from 10:45-11:45 on using automated software to manage the mySAP ERP upgrade project while reducing time, cost and resources.

Leading the presentation will be ERP industry veteran Steve Bergstrom, director of customer support services for IntelliCorp, and Terry DellaVecchia, Technical Development Director, McCormick & Company. Terry DellaVecchia will provide insight on how automated software from IntelliCorp helped with their upgrade from 4.6c to ECC 6.0. McCormick’s SAP environment has multiple production instances running 4.6c. With 3,000 total users, they are using Core R/3, BW and CRM. They were on the fast track to an ECC 5.0 upgrade but decided to switch to ECC 6.0.

“We knew if we could quickly identify a majority of the gaps and what needed to be fixed, we would ultimately save time and money during the course of the project,” said DellaVecchia.  “We added the cost of the software into the Upgrade budget and reduced the number of man-days for the programming effort by 39% .”

"Companies are faced with enormous challenges when trying to determine the impact an upgrade will have on their SAP environment," said Bergstrom. "Understanding what's inside an SAP system reduces the risk of testing and training, while ensuring the stable environment you worked hard to create is maintained during and after the upgrade process."

Symposium attendees will learn how automated software can help them understand the impact of a mySAP ERP upgrade before beginning the project. By taking a look at McCormick’s  experience, this session will address how they were able to leverage automation technology to support the development of a business case and budget for the upgrade. It will focus on how technology helped McCormick assess the impact and effort, project resource need, create a detailed project plan and precisely monitor the upgrade progress.  It demonstrates how automating the diagnostic and comparison effort between systems reduces time, resources and risk to lower total cost of ownership.
