IntelliCorp Ships LiveInterface 2003 with Support for R/3 Enterprise Edition

R/3-centric infrastructure provides efficient development environment to more quickly and accurately construct sophisticated interfaces

Mountain View, Calif. - May 27, 2003 - IntelliCorp, a global solutions firm utilizing technology to optimize enterprise business processes, today announced the general availability of a new version of LiveInterface, the company’s sophisticated interface development tool. LiveInterface 2003 offers expanded functionality through its standards-based framework, simplified development environment, and integrated support for SAP R/3 Enterprise Edition.

LiveInterface 2003 offers customers a complete solution for designing, building, monitoring and managing interfaces into, and out of, SAP R/3. Customers can also use the tool’s powerful data filtering features to leverage live production data in their testing and training activities.

Operating from within the SAP R/3 environment, LiveInterface 2003 can utilize SAP’s entire infrastructure to augment its data interface management capabilities including validation, processing, security, monitoring and migration. This visibility into the SAP system results in the development of more accurate interfaces with greater integrity than can be achieved using other methods or tools. Simplified interface management is provided via LiveInterface 2003’s unique process-aware data recovery and restart feature.

According to Nucleus Research, interface design and creation accounts for up to 27% of the total cost of an SAP R/3 installation. Using LiveInterface 2003, IntelliCorp’s customers have experienced reductions in resource outlay of between 40% and 70%, dependent on the complexity of the interface. LiveInterface 2003 uses a standard methodology to create interfaces, which leads to a reduction in the number of staff required to support interfaces post go-live. It also allows the interfaces to be easily upgraded as business and technology needs change providing additional savings over the life of the SAP installation.

"Companies depend on LiveInterface to provide the necessary infrastructure to integrate critical business processes," said Chris Trueman, chief development officer for IntelliCorp. "The new version of our tool offers a simplified development process that dramatically increases a programmer’s ability to quickly build powerful and stable interfaces. This, plus its support for SAP’s new 4.7 release, makes it a superior solution over all other interface development options."

Using LiveInterface 2003’s wizards and structured development framework, developers of all abilities can quickly build sophisticated and easily maintained data interfaces that connect to any of R/3’s thousands of functions, BAPIs, database tables, and resources. LiveInterface 2003 can access any SAP R/3 data transaction, IDOC, and BAPI allowing users to easily integrate data with other applications.

LiveInterface 2003's ALE/IDOC support has been extended to better integrate with R/3’s own ALE management system. Standard features for both inbound and outbound interfaces automatically map portions of IDOCs, syntax-check IDOC structures, and dynamically control the ALE Partner Profiles that direct the transportation and processing of IDOCs within ALE.

LiveInterface 2003 also provides the foundation for bi-directional linkages with IBM's MQSeries, the dominant product in the enterprise message queue market. When coupled with LiveInterface Adapter for MQSeries, LiveInterface 2003 developers can write messages to MQSeries without additional programming.
