Mountain View, Calif., June 14, 2004 - IntelliCorp, a worldwide provider of software tools for SAP lifecycle management and system support, today announced the expansion of its technology roadmap to include packaged Point-In-Time (PIT) solutions and an accommodating subscription pricing model for companies using SAP R/3 for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
The first PIT tools launched as part of IntelliCorp's deliverable-driven approach to SAP lifecycle management include SOLO™ for SAP, an automated ASP service producing a snapshot of system data, and Assessor™ for SAP, a comprehensive business and technical diagnostic solution resulting in detailed reports about an SAP environment. Powered by technology from IntelliCorp's NetProcess™ tool suite, SOLO for SAP and Assessor for SAP are currently available by subscription, and already being leveraged by companies to answer critical questions when evaluating SAP upgrades, integrations and maintenance.
"As companies remain challenged by an unstable economy, it's even more important to maximize and maintain the usage of ERP systems," said George D'Auteuil, CEO for IntelliCorp. "Point-In-Time solutions are non-invasive and subscription based, ensuring a quick return without additional staff or training investments. IntelliCorp recognizes that customers don't always need the entire NetProcess tool suite right away, which is available through a perpetual license, so SOLO for SAP and Assessor for SAP were developed from already-proven NetProcess technology, but designed with a more streamlined, run-when-you-need-to approach in mind."
SOLO for SAP: an SAP R/3 snapshot in less than 60 minutes
IntelliCorp SOLO for SAP is an automated, repeatable web based analysis that answers important topline questions about a company's use of SAP software, including:
- What functionality am I using?
- How much custom code am I using compared with standard mySAP?
- What standard SAP code am I using that is obsolete in mySAP?
- How efficient are my high-value business functions?
- What new transactions are available in mySAP?
- What new programs are available in mySAP?
- What new IDOCs does mySAP provide?
- What are my 50 most important transactions?
- What functionality makes up 80% of the testing scope for a mySAP upgrade?
- How much testing and training will be required in the mySAP upgrade?
SOLO for SAP reports are produced by applying sophisticated statistical algorithms, developed by IntelliCorp, to data gathered from a company's SAP systems. The result is a reliable and accurate
report providing valuable ERP information for the evaluation of upgrades, consolidations or other lifecycle events.
Assessor for SAP: reduces time, cost and complexity of system analysis
Assessor for SAP is an in-depth business and technical diagnostic solution used to scan SAP systems in search of transaction-level details that will affect an upgrade or consolidation. It provides a thorough understanding of how SAP functionality is being used to support business processes. Assessor for SAP produces twelve categories of reports including:
- Enterprise Model Fit - determines what business processes are supported and where additional functionality is available.
- Configuration Analysis - identifies configuration changes between the current production and target systems.
- Custom Code - provides an analysis of the upgrade-ability of custom code.
- Transaction Analysis - assesses what is used, available and no longer available.
- Benchmarks - runs a system comparison against industry best practices.
- ABAP Changes - produces a developer-level analysis of changes in syntax introduced in the target release, as well as custom programs that need updating.
- Interface Impact - reviews Batch Data Communication (BDC) and the impact significant screen-level changes have on interfaces.
"Upgrades: Like it or not, everyone has to deal with them at some point in the lifecycle of an enterprise application," said John Hagerty, VP for AMR Research, in the AMR Alert: IntelliCorp Delivers Shortcuts, Cost Reduction for SAP Upgrades. "For those migrating to any release of SAP R/3 or mySAP, these products are ones that every customer should evaluate."
IntelliCorp SOLO for SAP and Assessor for SAP are available as part of the NetProcess tool suite, as well as individual components through subscription.
